Detroit police officer opens fire on suspect

Detroit police are going door-to-door searching for a suspect who an officer shot at on late Wednesday night.

According to police, they were checking on a natural-cause death in the 18400 block of San Juan on Detroit's west side when they heard several shots outside.

They heard several shots being fired, and when they came out, they saw a red Toyota Camry outside. They tried to pull the Camry over and a chase ensued.

They saw a car take off and followed the car, and that's when the suspect started running out of the vehicle. 

That suspect then grabbed a gun from his waistband and fired two shots at the officers. One officer fired back but it's unclear if the suspect was hit.

Police put out an APB for the car and it was pulled over in Oak Park where one suspect was taken into custody.
