Exactly one week after burying one of their own, the Detroit Police Department is united again, this time to welcome more officer sto their ranks.
DPD welcomed the fourth graduating class of the year at Greater Grace Church in Detroit. Inside, 26 men and women became Detroit cops.
"We're graduating a class of committed, energetic young people who made the decision to serve the city of Detroit," Chief James Craig said.
After six months of going through mental and physical tests at the Detroit Police Academy, the men and women finally earned their badge.
The class set to graduate after this one at the end of the year is nearly double the size with 47 men and women.
