A mother of four was murdered Tuesday night while sitting inside of a parked car on Detroit's Northwest side. Her family is now asking for your help in finding the gunman.
Loved ones tell me the mother had four children, had just celebrated her 25th birthday and was getting ready to start a new job.
Shakeita McCall was a mother of four young kids. Her cousins say Tuesday she was offered a new job, but before she could even start, her life was cut short.
Her cousins say they pulled into a parking lot near Bate's Academy on Detroit's northwest side Tuesday around nine at night - getting ready to hang out and celebrate.
They told a group that approached them that they didn't want any trouble. But things took a deadly turn in front of several people who were at the park.
Dominique was in the back seat - she ducked and then quickly jumped into action.
She drove straight to the hospital, but before they could get there, Shakeita died. We're told their guy cousin who was in the driver's seat was also shot - he's still recovering.
Now, their family wants justice.
The area where the shooting happened is inside of the parking lot, next to a playground for kids and next to a school - more people could have gotten hurt.
Police are still investigating. if you have any information about this crime, give them a call.
In the meantime, the family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with her funeral.
