4 dead after 7 separate shootings across Detroit over the weekend

DETROIT (WXYZ) — There were at least seven shootings over the weekend in Detroit with ten victims – three of the shootings were deadly, killing four people.

Police have told 7 Action News that they are still investigating these shootings.

One of the shootings occurred at Fenkell and Manor on the city's west side. Three people sitting inside of a car were shot in a drive-by shooting. Two of the three were killed.

Family members say 25-year-old Isiah Thomas Mathis was killed in this shooting.

"He means everything to me," his mother said. "I'm just lost."

In another separate shooting, a postal worker was grazed by a bullet. This occurred on Detroit's west side at Coyle and Puritan. Authorities say he is in stable condition and was not the intended target.

Two teens were also hurt due to gun violence this past weekend. They were shot in the area of Eight Mile and Van Dyke on the city's east side. Police say a 16-year-old and 17-year-old were sitting in a car when a man driving a silver Dodge Durango drove up and opened fire. The teens are in temporary serious condition.
