A steal door and a brick wall didn’t stop crooks from busting into a liquor store early Wednesday morning. Even the alarm couldn’t stop them.
Detroit Police are investigating the smash and grab robbery that happened at Selena Liquor Lane on Rosa Parks. The business is a neighborhood store, in business now for 19 years.
Workers at the store are frustrated the alarm company didn’t call in the burglary until the crooks had been inside for hours, according to surveillance video. It is not clear if the alarm was triggered before then. The security company, Sonitrol, tells 7 Action News it will be looking into what happened.
Police worked the neighborhood, showing pictures of the burglars responsible.
The crooks ripped apart an ATM, took cash, beer, and lottery tickets.
Many neighbors could be seen throughout the day to help repair damage
