Deadly mauling of boy seen on surveillance video

Posted

It was revealed in court Wednesday that the deadly mauling of four-year-old Xavier Strickland by four dogs was captured on Geneke Lyons' home surveillance cameras.

Lyons, the owner of the dogs that have been put down, is charged with Second Degree Murder, Manslaughter, and Possessing a Dangerous Animal Causing Death.

Lyons was ordered held without bond at his arraignment Monday, but his attorney returned to court Wednesday in hopes of obtaining a bond he considered "reasonable."

36th District Court Judge Lydia Nance Adams then set bond for Lyons at $1,000,000 cash. And if Lyons is able to post bond, he must wear a tether, be on house arrest, and stay away from all dogs.
