The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says one person is dead and another person is in critical condition this morning after a boating incident Wednesday night in Anchor Bay.

Officials say a boat capsized in Anchor Bay near the public access point off Highway 59, near Selfridge Air National Guard Base. According to Harrison Twp. fire officials, two people were on the boat at the time of the incident.

The sheriff's office says they were notified when someone spotted the capsized boat. In a 911 call released to 7 Action News, you can hear the man telling dispatch he picked someone up from the water.

Another boater reportedly discovered the capsized fishing boat and was able to rescue a 39-year-old man who was clinging to the bow.

He was rushed to the hospital for showing signs of hypothermia.

Sheriff's deputies then set out to find the other boater and divers later recovered the body of 60-year-old Brad Thacker from Warren.

The 39-year-old who was boating with Thacker is currently listed in critical condition at the hospital, but we're told he is expected to survive.
