Missing owner of sinking boat identified

Posted

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office has released a photo and description of a missing man after his boat was found sinking in Lake Huron.

Patrick Michael Presutti, 60, was last seen on his 31-foot SeaRay Sundancer at Bouvier Bar Marina in Fairhaven on August 29. His wife reported him missing on September 1.

The sinking boat was spotted by the crew on a freighter as it moved through Lake Huron. The U.S. Coast Guard then found the boat with about six feet of its bow sticking upright out of the water.

Authorities believe someone tried to intentionally sink the cabin cruiser.

The boat's registration number allowed deputies to trace it back to Presutti.

On Tuesday of this week, the boat was towed to shore and drained.

"The initial investigation reveals that the vessel was intentionally attempted to be sunk," said a statement issued by the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office.

Presutti is described as a white male around 5'10", 230 lbs. with grey hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion.

If you have any information regarding this missing person you are asked to contact the Macomb County Sheriff Detective Bureau at 586-307-9358.
