Macomb Township woman killed while talking to 911, husband hurt in apparent murder/attempted suicide

The Macomb County Sheriff's office is investigating the death of a 38-year-old Macomb Township women in an apparent murder and attempted suicide.

Deputies say the woman was shot multiple times. She had called 911 shortly after 1 a.m. to report a domestic dispute. The dispatcher heard several gun shots during the call.

When deputies arrived at the home in the 16000 block of Country Ridge Lane, they found the woman's body within close proximity of her injured husband.

Police say the man had a self-inflicted gunshot wound and a .40 caliber hand gun was lying on the floor near him.

The gun is registered to the man. He is currently in police custody at the hospital.

Deputies say the woman's 16-year-old son was in the home at the time of the incident. He was not hurt and has been turned over to family members.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says there were no prior domestic calls to the home.

Neighbors tell 7 Action News the suspect is Hal Diallo Byrom. 

"I's hard to comprehend what could have led to this, since he always appeared to be calm and even-tempered," Benjamin Verga said.

The 911 calls are expected to be released soon.
