MONROE TOWSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police say a 25-year-old woman was killed and her 2-year-old son suffered minor injuries in a crash on I-75.
The accident happened around 9:40 a.m. on northbound I-75 near Laplaisance Road.
Officers say the woman was driving a Toyota minivan when she struck the rear of a commercial box truck that had slowed down for traffic. The woman was pronounced dead a the scene.
The drive of the truck was not injured.
Police say distracted driving is believed to be a factor in the crash.
