All Hazel Park schools will be closed on Friday, March 23, due to a threat.
School officials say all after-school activities will be canceled as well. Over the weekend, officials will determine if schools will be closed Monday.
The threat, which was shared with school administration by students, has been turned over to law enforcement agencies.
"As a school community, we do not find these posts funny at all," Superintendent Amy Kruppe said. "They cause concern and stress for our students, staff, parents and community members."
Kruppe asked parents to speak to their children regarding the seriousness of threats on social media.
"Please encourage your children to identify any potential threats and share them with you or an appropriate school official," she said.
