A boil water advisory has been lifted in Rochester Hills following a water main break in Troy on Sunday. The advisory remains in effect for Troy.

The city said samples came back showing no bacteria with normal chlorine levels.

The Great Lakes Water Authority advised the city they can lift the advisory that impacted about 15,000 households, which works out to about 1/4 of the population.

The 7-foot main broke early Sunday morning on South Boulevard between John R and Dequindre.

According to the Troy Police Department, the advisory is expected to continue until at least Tuesday evening.

A Water Distribution Center will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday night for impacted Troy residents. It's happening at Firefighters Park at 1800 W. Square Lake Rd. It will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
