A group called ACT for America is planning a march against Sharia law Saturday, June 10th in Southfield.

The group is using social media to promote the event. Bridgitt Garbriel, the leader of ACT, posted a video on Twitter that characterizes the march as an act of patriotism.

"This is your chance to do more than just tweet for your country, forward emails or post on your Facebook for your country,"she said.

But critics warn Gabriel's march is not patriotism but Islam-a-phobia.

"It's well-funded. It's well supported. And it's making significant gains because of the international climate and the political climate after the election of the current president," said Osama Siblani, editor of the Arab American News in Dearborn.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has classified Act for America as anti-Muslim hate group. But Gabriel-- who claims to have met with President Trump in the White House-- doesn't care.

"We don't give a flying kite whether the world approves of us or not. We do what we believe is right for America."
