Driver in wrong way I-275 crash identified as Mike Stack of Wolverine Lake

Driver of SUV causing fatal crash on I-275 identified as Mike Stack of Wolverine Lake, 2 victims also identified.

A statement released by the Village of Wolverine Lake says they have received credible information that Council Member Mike Stack was involved in the fatal accident on I-275 on Tuesday. 

The Wayne County Medical Examiner has also identified the two people in the second vehicle as Shannon McIntyre and Nicholas Pare. 

Public records show she was 32 from Woodhaven.  Pare was 33 from Wayne. 

State police also say while an open container of alcohol was found inside Stack’s SUV and blood alcohol test results could take two weeks to complete. 

He was driving the wrong way on I-275, and his vehicle was caught on a dash cam video of a truck right before the crash.

Stack has been released from State Police custody and his driver’s license held. He’s been given what is called a 625 paper permit to drive. 

It will be up to a judge to decide if he can continue to drive.  

No one answered the door at his home in Wolverine Lake Wednesday afternoon. It is not known if he has been released from the hospital with his injuries.
