Ferndale unveils new dog park

Posted

Ferndale has just completed a new park for your pooch.

The newly completed Ferndale Dog Park will feature a fire-hydrant themed drinking area, grass runs and separate areas for small and large dogs.

The dog park is located at the east end of Wilson Park on Hilton Road. A grand opening will be held later this month. The park is open to all for the rest of the month.

As of October 1, anyone wanting to use the park will be required to register with the city.

In order to register, residents will have to complete a one-time dog safety course. Courses will be held at the Kulick Community Center on a monthly basis. Additional classes will be held during the opening month.

Residents will also be required to purchase an annual membership for $40 a year. There is also a one-time $10 fee for the key fob necessary to access the park.

Dog owners will also need to show proof of up-to-date vaccinations and license.

You can find out more information online or by calling Ferndale Recreation at (248) 544-6767.
