Man who had license suspended 43 times arrested

A Detroit man who had his license suspended 43 times was arrested in Troy last week.

According to Troy police, 56-year-old Ernest James was pulled over on Southbound Crooks south of Wattles just before 4 a.m. on Sept. 16.

Police found out he had his license suspended 43 times, and was arrested.

While searching the car, they also found an open bottle of liquor tucked between the center console and driver's seat. The man also had several warrants out for his arrest, according to police.

He was charged with Driving While License Suspended and Transporting an Open Intoxicant in a Motor Vehicle.
