Meijer says customers who fueled up at an Oakland County gas station may have received contaminated fuel.
The retailer says unleaded fuel and diesel fuel sold at its Auburn Hills store on Monday and Tuesday may have been faulty.
A Meijer spokesman tells 7 Action News that diesel fuel was injected into unleaded fuel and unleaded was injected into diesel fuel.
Only customers who bought gasoline at the Meijer located at 800 Brown Road in Auburn Hills would have received the bad mix of fuel.
"Any customer who purchased Diesel, Unleaded Regular or Unleaded Mid-Grade Fuel from Monday, Sept. 7 at 1 a.m. through Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Auburn Hills Meijer on Brown Road is asked to contact Meijer at 1-800-543-3704," the company said in a customer advisory that was issued Wednesday.
Meijer believes about 850 customers were sold gasoline that may be contaminated.
If you believe you purchased bad gas from Meijer, or if you have any questions, the company asks you to call 1-800-543-3704.
