It's one of the largest projects proposed in Oakland County, as plans were unveiled for the site of what used to be Northland Mall.

It would divide the vacant 120 acres into five segments of mixed use development.

Residents got the examine the plans up close on Tuesday night, which includes apartments, retail, restaurants, office space, a medical research facility, a park and more.

Southfield tax payers were encouraged to ask questions and leave comments, and the mayor says most of the mall would have to be demolished.

The city doesn't have investors lined up yet, and would aim to develop the property in stages.
