A suburban community in northern Oakland County has been rocked by two suspicious deaths.
Investigators tell 7 Action News they were following up on an anonymous tip when they discovered the bodies of a man and woman in their 60s inside a home on the 11000 block of Shaffer road in Davisburg.
Detectives say the 66-year-old man and 64-year-old woman were found on the floor of the home under suspicious circumstances
The relationship between the two is unknown. Family members have declined comment.
Deputies say there was a strong smell of gas in the home and ignition sources staged in a manner that could cause a fire or explosion.
Several small open gas cans were also left out and lanterns left burning.
Neighbors had to evacuate as a precaution as crews took time to shut off natural gas to the home.
