SOUTH LYON, Mich. (WXYZ) — South Lyon police have arrested the person responsible for the shooting death of 17-year-old Dylan Stamper in the teen's home around 9 p.m. Wednesday night.
The police department shared the update via social media on Friday, saying the 19-year-old suspect had been taken into custody and placed at the Oakland County Jail.
The suspect, Fadi Zeineh, faces several charges including homicide felony murder, weapons felony firearm, armed robbery and assault with intent to murder.
Dylan's father, 43-year-old Kevin Stamper, was also shot but survived. His condition was listed as critical but stable, according to police.
Dylan and his father were inside their home on East Liberty near Reynold Sweet Parkway with two other people when the shooter opened fire on them and then fled.
The South Lyon Police Department says the investigation has been turned over to and is being reviewed by the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.
There hasn't been a homicide in South Lyon in a long time. Ten years ago, there was a murder-suicide, according to police. A child was murdered in 2007.
