The University of Michigan is putting all of its students and staff on alert.
According to police and published reports, a woman was walking in the 600 block of Washington around 9 this morning.
A man approached her and asked her for money. As she reached to get some money, he showed her a handgun and demanded the cash and then walked west on Washington.
That’s near the corner of State and Washington.
The suspect is described as a black male, slender build, 5-10, in his twenties, wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
