Proposal could cut Ann Arbor's speed limit

Posted

A proposal could reduce the speed limit on parts of Main Street in Ann Arbor.

While there are already sections of the road that have a speed limit of 25 miles an hour, other sections have a speed limit of 45 miles an hour.

The proposal would make the 25 mile an hour speed limit universal in the city.

It's just one of the proposals put forth by a task force designed to make the city's roads safer. The task force presented the report, entitled Vision 0, to the Ann Arbor City Council today.

Another proposal calls for improved signs that would be better visible to pedestrians and bikers.

There are no official plans to act on the proposals yet.
