Evacuation underway at Regent Court on Ford's Dearborn campus

The suspicious package was deemed safe. The Regent Court facility on Ford's Dearborn campus has resumed normal operations.

12:30 p.m.

Two thousand employees have been evacuated from the Regent Court building on Ford's Dearborn campus due to a suspicious package.

The package was found in the mailroom and after being x-rayed was determined to be a risk. Authorities were contacted and evacuations began as a precaution.

Employees were told to go home or to go to work at another facility. The Regent Court facility will not re-open today. 

Employees are currently being given instructions on how to go back inside to get any personal belongings

The Regent Court building on Ford's Dearborn campus has been evacuated due to a suspicious package.

Ford released the following statement:

A suspicious package was found in the Regent Court building on Ford’s Dearborn campus. We are evacuating the building out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our employees.
