The suspect accused of shooting and killing a man in a Tim Horton’s parking lot is now facing first degree murder charges.

Forty-four-year-old Mark Germano is accused of shooting and killing 38-year-old Edward Kuehn while he was parking at the Belleville Tim Horton’s off I-94 and Rawsonville Rd. It happened Sunday morning around 7:30, police said Kuehn was in the front seat of his car and he was shot twice in the head and the neck.

Kuehn’s family said they are stunned since he was just recovering from a hard won battle with oral cancer.

"He fought so hard to get through that and to pull through and to be there for his kids and family and everything, he was gunned down by a coward,” said Amanda Kuehn, Edward’s sister.

Kuehn was a father of two, a 16-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son.

He was diagnosed with stage three oral cancer in June of 2015 and he had just recently beat it.

Kuehn’s sister said he had started seeing a woman and that is the reason he was gunned down.

"The ex husband didn't like that he didn't want her to be with anyone else and my brother got the blunt end of that stick,” said Amanda Kuehn.

The suspect, Mark Germano, is due before a judge on June 7.
