Local women at college in Florida murdered

Posted

Family members have set up a GoFundMe account for an Inkster woman who was murdered in Florida.

According to The Daytona Beach Police Department, the suspect, York Bodden, hanged himself last night in his jail cell.

Timesha Carswell and her roommate, 19-year-old Diona McDonald, were allegedly killed by their housemate in Daytona Beach. Both women were students at Bethune Cookman University, where Timesha was on a full ride.

According to WFTV, both Carswell and McDonald were from Michigan.

Police say Bodden shot a third roommate who is being treated in a local hospital.  Bodden reportedly lived with the victims, but they were trying to evict him.

"What he did in that apartment, he basically assassinated the young ladies," Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood told WFTV. "The young ladies were shot point-blank range. They were head shots. And our male victim in the hospital right now has at least three shots to the face and head area."

Timesha's family is in shock. They say they are just trying to bring her home. They have set up the GoFundMe account to pay for funeral expenses.
