A Redford man was arraigned on charges Thursday in connection to the murder and mutilation of his roommate earlier this week.
According to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, Dexter Williams, 44, was charged with First Degree Murder and Mutilation of a Dead Body in the death of 46-year-old Ann Marie Gorup, also of Redford.
Police say officers were dispatched to the Lola Manor Apartments in the 25000 block of 5 Mile around 2 p.m. on Sept. 21 to do a wellness check on Gorup.
When officers arrived, Williams was at the apartment, and officers said they noticed blood in several rooms of the home. They also discovered several female body parts inside.
Police say Williams, who had been living with Gorup, killed her and mutilated her dead body.
