Motor City Ghost Hunters look into the haunting of the Wayne Museum

It’s that time of year when ghosts and goblins are roaming about.

For local paranormal investigators, this is their busy season as they host ghost hunts.

7 Action News reporter Syma Chowdhry followed the Motor City Ghost Hunters as they checked out the lost souls staying at the Wayne Museum.

Brenda Ozog and her team investigated the location. They’re looking for people who might be visiting from the other side.

Ozog said, “We are always getting calls and doing investigations.”

The Wayne Museum was built in the 1800s and was once the city hall, firehouse and police station with a jail in the basement.

The stairs leading to it are very active.

“A portal opening there, because, when we tested our dousing rods, they showed us they continuously spin, that means there is an opening between realms.”

Motor City Ghost Hunters have found many ghostly things in our area. You may remember them from our report last yearwhen they investigated the Westland Historic Village.

Brenda says it’s easy to find paranormal activity in Southeast Michigan.

“Activity due to the Native Americans and, plus, we have a lot of pioneers come here, so their heart and soul was in this area.”

Nicole Conklin of the Wayne Historical Society said, “Everything that you see, you can trace back to Wayne.”

Conklin welcomes these types of investigations.

“Just a great way to connect with the past,” she said.

The medium of the group, Sarah, sensed the spirit of a drunk man in the basement and a former city worker on the main floor. She tells us he was turning on their flashlights and other equipment.

Ozog added, “We have somebody who is not happy with us filming right now.”

If you’re skeptical, come out to one of their events to learn about the well-known locals who still roam the place.

“I don’t want to give out any names, you have to go to the ghost hunts to find those out,” Ozog added.
