Westland police say a suspect has been arrested after stealing a Westland police car and leading police on a chase.
According to Westland Police Chief Jeffrey Jedrusik, Detroit police officers were looking for a murder suspect and was located near the area of Wayne and Joy roads in Westland.
Westland police officers jumped out of their patrol car trying to help Detroit police officers arrest the suspect.
That's when the suspect broke free and jumped into the Westland police car, fleeing.
Officers chased the suspect to the area of Warren and Lotz roads where he crashed.
The suspect was finally arrested and taken into custody. According to Jedrusik, the suspect will be turned over to Detroit police for the alleged murder. They will also be seeking charges.
