A Northville Township woman says she hid in her closet and called 911 after seeing 2 guys in her driveway. She says she thought one of them had a gun and believes there were scoping out the house in order to break in.
She told a 911 dispatcher, "I put myself in a closet and I'm hiding under a blanket. I don't want to come out."
It happened around 11:00 am on Tuesday near Beck & 8 Mile. The woman said they were in a newer light colored, 4 door sedan.
She told the dispatcher, "It appeared that nobody was here, so he went to get his - somebody came out of the back seat with a gun. It looked like a gun. Oh please. I'm so scared. Please. I'm scared. Help."
Something spooked those guys and, when police pulled up, they had already taken off.
While the cops were there, another 911 call came in. A nearby resident said she came home to find a screen to a back window had been cut. She said someone had broken in and stole jewelry and electronics.
Police think those two guys first hit another woman's home.
Northville Township's Police Chief says, "it's really a crime of opportunity. They know people are at work or out running errands. It's really about awareness. Make sure your exterior lights are lit, doors and windows locked - even when you're home, communicate with neighbors and the police department."
There is a Crime Stoppers reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
If you recognize the car in the video or if you know who's behind the break-in, call Northville Twp. PD or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
