Livonia police say three people were killed in an accident on 5 Mile Rd. at Levan in Livonia on Monday night.
According to police, an 80-year-old Livonia man was driving west on 5 Mile near Levan when he hit a red Ford Focus driving east on 5 Mile. Inside the Focus were a 67-year-old Redford woman and an 88-year-old Livonia Woman.
The Livonia man and Redford woman were taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. The Livonia wman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The car was coming on westbound 5 Mile," one driver involved said. "I was in the far right lane and the car was coming towards me so I got upon the grass, hopped the curb and got out of the way. It clipped my back bumper but it could have been worse."
A minivan was als involved in the crash but the occupants of the vehicle received minor injuries. Other drivers of the vehicles involved were not injured.
Police say they are still investigating the crash.
