(WXYZ) — New report reveals 400 nursing homes that “persistently underperform.” Ten are in Michigan.
It is difficult to find a good nursing home for a loved one. What goes on inside is not always made public.
Two U. S. Senators from Pennsylvania have just made public a list of 400 facilities that are under a category of Special Focus Facilities and get additional oversight. The list was kept by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
Below are the 10 facilities in Michigan that made that list and get additional oversight. Four of those are Medilodge in Midland, Livingston, Sterling Heights and Southfield. Their website shows they operate 50 facilities in Michigan. Action News was told to contact the corporate office in Louisville, Kentucky for reaction and have not heard back.
