DETROIT (WXYZ) — The man who is accused of killing four women and leaving their bodies in vacant homes in Detroit has been arraigned on First-Degree Murder Charges.
Deangelo Martin was remanded to the Wayne County Jail without bond.
His probable cause hearing has been set for October 2 and 8:30 a.m. in 36th District Court.
Earlier today, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced murder charges against the 34-year-old.
Martin is charged in the deaths of 47-year-old Annetta Nelson, 52-year-old Nancy Harrison, 55-year-old Trevesene Ellis and 55-year-old Tamara Jones. All of the women were Detroit residents.
Annetta Nelson's body was found on February 26, 2018 in a vacant house on Winthrop Street. Her manner of death was determined to be from blunt force trauma and police also found a used condom inside the house. In this case, Martin has been charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder, Felony Murder and Criminal Sexual Conduct Third Degree.
Nancy Harrison was also found dead inside a vacant house on Coventry Street. A used condom was also found near her body. The Wayne County Medical Examiner determined her manner of death as blunt force trauma. In this case, Martin has been charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder, Felony Murder and Criminal Sexual Conduct Third Degree.
Trevesene Ellis was found in a vacant home on Linnhurst. and a condom was found near her body. Her manner of death was also undetermined due to advanced composition.In this case, Martin has been charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder, Felony Murder and Criminal Sexual Conduct Third Degree.
Tamara Jones was in a vacant house on Mack Avenue. A condom was found near her body and the manner of death could not be determined due to an advanced stage of decomposition. In this case, Martin has been charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder, Felony Murder and Criminal Sexual Conduct Third Degree.
"We are confident that this defendant's alleged criminal and predatory actions link him to all four of these homicides, as well as the two sexual assault cases that we charged him with previously. The details will be presented in court, and we will continue to pursue an and all evidence that may connect him to further crimes," said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.
