A major renovation project to Detroit Metro Airport's North Terminal will bring several new dining options that include metro Detroit restaurants.

This is the first major change at DTW's North Terminal since it opened in 2008, and the Wayne County Airport Authority Board awarded 10-year contracts to DTW North partners LLC, HMSHost, McDonald's USA and NAC-MAC Concessions LLC.

Several of the restaurants are from metro Detroit, including Atwater Brewery, Jolly Pumpkin Taphouse, Anita's Kitchen & Lebanese Cafe, Air Margaritaville & Detroit Street Cafe featuring Zingerman's Coffee, Common Grace Coffee House and more.

Other restaurants that will be in the North Terminal include: MOD Pizza, Brioche Dorée, Chick-fil-A/Pei Wei Asian Diner, Outback Steakhouse, Starbucks, McDonald's and National Coney Island.

The $21 million transformation will take place in phases so that a variety of food options will be available at all ties. The first phase will begin in fall 2018 with the opening of new concessions in spring of 2019, before the final phase starts  and wrap up by the spring of 2020.
