TROY, Michigan — You could call it exchange day, gift card day, or discount day, either way, stores don’t know what to call it but they know the day after Christmas is a big day for business.
People lined up at stores around metro Detroit to return unwanted gifts, spend gift cards, or find deals.
“We were thinking about coming back later,” said Kayla Moser, as she stood in a line that was barely moving.
Others stuck it out.
“The lines were pretty long, but everybody has been pretty nice,” said Stephani Colucci, as she shopped at the Kohl’s at Oakland Square in Troy.
At Sportsman’s Warehouse, hunters had discounts in their sights as workers could be seen putting items on clearance.
“We are just trying to get some good deals after the holidays, (and) see if we can get some discounts on hunting stuff,” said Lance Schwartz, as he shopped at Sportsman’s Warehouse in Troy.
