Skeletons part of a big Halloween display in downtown Northville

Posted

With Halloween only three weeks away, you may notice more and more decorations going up.

Make no bones about it, downtown Northville is getting in on all the fun. Nina Turcato-Cover came to see the skeletons.

"The skeletons are fantastic out here," she said.

There are more than 120 skeletons on the sidewalks in various poses and positions.

Turcato-Covert said, "They are not scary so that kids could come and really enjoy that just like us big kids."

There's something for everybody, animal lovers, sports fans, even movie goers. They even have a scene from the film, Big Lebowski.

This is the sixth year the downtown district has been having a little fun with the skeletons.

Officials say they attract a lot of foot traffic.

"Every year people call in just to see what the new skeletons are. They want to come down and check out what we added," said Lori Ward, the Director of the Northville Downtown Development Authority. This year we have a debate between Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump."

Businesses, like Orin Jewelers, get in on the fun.

Greg Gilbertson of Orin Jewelers said, "We have a gentlemen on his knees, proposing with a spider ring to his lovely, hopefully bride to be."

The skeletons will be "hanging" around until Halloween.
