It's on the calendar! Spring is here! However, Michigan in the spring often offers a roller coaster of temperatures and rounds of wet snow and rain. It has definitely been a cooler-than-average month so far and it looks like the chill is here to stay for a while longer.
We've been battling a cold northerly flow and wind pattern since the end of February. A wind shift to the south this time of year can help boost temperatures well into the 40s and even 50s. The 6-10 Day Outlook brings this relief next week with highs above average for several days.
However, the switch looks to be short-lived will cooler air possibly returning to end the month and start April. The 8-14 Day Outlooks demonstrates a fine line between a cool surge and simply average temperatures.
The average high for Detroit during this period is in the low 50s (51°-54°).
One thing is for sure, we'll be watching the weather closely for the Tigers Home Opener on March 29.
