(WXYZ) — Starbucks announced that Michigan will be one of seven states that will begin offering Oatmilk as an option in its drinks.
According to the company, it has been on the menu at Starbucks stores in Europe since 2018, as it's a fast-growing milk alternative.
“When I think about oats and winter, it’s very natural to pair honey with oats,” Starbucks Product Developer Raegan Powell said in a news release. “Just think of a lightly sweetened oatmeal cookie or warm bowl of oatmeal.”
It will be available in around 1,300 stores in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin.
There will also be a specialty drink, the Oatmilk Honey Lattee, which is made with Starbucks Blonde Espresso infused with Honey Blend an steamed oatmilk with a honey topping.
“Customers are looking for more ways to personalize their beverages,” Powell said. “We love how the nuanced flavor you get with plant-based milks pairs with espresso, either hot or iced. It’s a new way to start your new year.”
