Sterling Heights man charged with murder in shooting death of transgender woman

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has charged Albert Weathers, 46, of Sterling Heights, with the murder of Kelly Stough, 36. 

Stough, a transgender woman, was found dead by police in the area of East McNichols and Brush streets on Dec. 7. 

Weathers was arraigned on Monday, Dec. 10 following a police investigation. He is charged with open murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony, according to a news release.

Weathers' bond was set at $1 million cash/surety.

A probable cause conference is scheduled for Dec. 20 at 8:30 a.m.
