STANTON, Mich. (WXYZ) — Wayland, a stray cat, was found with an arrow through his body Wednesday, now the Humane Society of Mid Michigan and local animal control are looking for the person or persons responsible. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest will receive a $500 reward.

The stray cat was found in the area north of Sheridan near Holland Lake Road in Stanton, Michigan. He was rushed to a veterinary clinic where he received x-rays that showed that the arrow had missed vital organs, but pierced his scapula, or shoulder bone.

According to a post on the Humane Society of Mid Michigan's Facebook page, the arrow had been in Wayland for several days before he was found. The arrow has since been removed and Wayland is recovering.
