(WXYZ) — Grosse Ile Township was named the safest city in Michigan, according to a study from alarms.org.
Michigan was ranked the 11th safest state for property crime, but its violent crime rate was above the U.S. average, making it the 34th safest state for violent crime.
The top five safest areas in Michigan are Grosse Ile Township, Beverly Hills, Rochester, Berkley and South Lyon.
In Grosse Ile Township, there was a total of 29 crimes, and none of them were violent.
