(WXYZ) — The 12th annual Tara's Walk took place on Saturday, Sept. 28 in memory of Tara Grant, the Macomb County mother who was murdered by her husband, Stephen Grant, back in 2007.
It takes place at the Freedom Hill Amphitheatre.
Tara's family began the walk to raise awareness about domestic violence and prevent other families from experiencing the tragedy and loss of a loved one like Tara's family did. It's put on with Turning Point, which provides emergency support and prevention services for domestic and sexual violence survivors in metro Detroit.
“This event is so important to my family and lets people know what domestic violence does to families," Tara's daughter, Lindsey, said.
