Trevor Lauer of DTE says they have 1,200 DTE crews working right now with 1,000 contract crews joining in the efforts today.
Lauer said their first order of business is keeping the public safe, and with more than 3,000 reported downed power lines, it is slowing down power restoration efforts.
DTE says they hope to have 80 percent of customers restored by the end of the day on Thursday and 95 percent by the end of the day on Friday.
DTE says they will be adding restoration updates to the map as they become available. Check the outage map here.
The Novi Police Department also sent out a message Monday evening saying that the city of Novi is currently under a boil water advisory as of 8:30 p.m.
Commerce Township and Walled Lake are also under boil water advisories. A statement from the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner said, "A loss of pressure due to a temporary power outage at a Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) station has been identified as the reason for the boil water notice."
Remember, if you come across a down line, stay away from it and report it to DTE by calling 1-800-477-4747.
