(WXYZ) — Kelly Stafford is thanking Michiganders Monday morning after news broke over the weekend that the Detroit Lions and quarterback Matthew Stafford have mutually agreed to part ways.

"Thank you. This place, our home, the people... it’s hard to find the words to explain what this place means to me," Kelly wrote on Instagram, sharing a picture of her and Matthew.

She said she hopes to show Michigan how grateful they are for the support in the future. She said they plan to enjoy the rest of the time they have left in Michigan because "there really is no other place like it."
