(WXYZ) — More Democratic lawmakers are calling for impeachment hearings for President Donald Trump.

The calls are stemming from allegations of Trump discussing former Vice President Joe Biden during a conversation with Ukraine's president.

Trump has denied wrongdoing in talking about Biden with Ukraine's president.

Michigan Democrats calling for impeachment hearings include Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Rep. Elissa Slotkin, Rep. Debbie Dingell, Rep. Haley Stevens, Rep. Brenda Lawrence, Rep. Dan Kildee and Rep. Andy Levin.

Slotkin joined six other Democrats in an op-ed published in the Washington Post Monday saying "they do not arrive at this conclusion lightly" and call the allegations "a threat to all" they've sworn to protect.

A statement from Michigan Republican Party Chair Laura Cox reads:

"Today, Elissa Slotkin and Haley Stevens decided to join with Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the most radical members of their party by jumping on the impeachment bandwagon. For nearly three years, Democrats and their allies in the media have conducted a witch-hunt against President Trump in an attempt to undo the results of the 2016 election. Time and time again their accusations have been proven false, and I find it shameful that Slotkin and Stevens have chosen to put their political ambitions ahead of the real issues facing their constituents."
