ROCHESTER, Mich. (WXYZ) — It's a real holiday treat - an enchanted gingerbread forest.
The amazing creation was whipped up by the pastry team at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester. The hotel teamed up with the Salvation Army for the display, which was unveiled on Nov. 21.
It includes giant trees of all sizes, filled with all things gingerbread. Houses, trees and children, with gum drops and lollipops.
There is even a gingerbread-inspired train, the "Royal Park Express."
“With 11 years of gingerbread, The Royal Park Hotel’s event has truly become a holiday tradition for families in the community,” said Major Tim Meyer, general secretary and metro Detroit area commander for The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division in a news release. “The partnership between The Salvation Army and Royal Park Hotel is so sweet it has raised nearly $55,000 for northern Oakland County families in need and we look forward to great community support again this year.”
The forest is available for public viewing through the beginning of 2020.
