DETROIT (WXYZ) — Thousands of toys found new homes in metro Detroit on Wednesday.
Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit hosted its annual Snowpile event, a gift giveaway for patients hospitalized and their families.
Parents were able to pick out gifts for their kids from toys generously donated by people in Southeast Michigan.
"We don't get this that often. It's a lot of people out here who are really going through something and people don't really know because people don't really speak on what they're going through," parent Adreonna Townsend said. "But to know there's actually people out here that's thinking about people on a day-to-day basis, it really warms our hearts."
There is still time to donate on the hospital’s Amazon wish list.
