Tickets on sale Friday for 'The Last Ship' in Detroit starring Sting

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Tickets for "The Last Ship" in Detroit, starring 17-time Grammy Award winner Sting, will go on sale to the public Friday, Nov. 29.

The musical will perform at the Detroit Opera House for one week only next spring.

Sting will star as shipyard foreman, “Jackie White,” and will perform the role at every performance. The musical was inspired by his 1991 album "The Soul Cages" and tells the story of a community during the demise of the shipbuilding industry.

It features a Tony-nominated score with music and lyrics by Sting, plus some of his best-loved songs, "Islands of Souls," "All This Time" and "When We Dance."

The show will play at the Detroit Opera House from April 22 through April 26.

Tickets can be purchased online at broadwayindetroit.comor ticketmaster.com, and by phone at 800-982-2787. Tickets may also be purchased at the Detroit Opera House and Fisher Theatre box offices. They start at $35.

There will be evening performances at 8 p.m. on Wednesday - Saturday, a Sunday evening performance at 7:30 p.m., matinees on Saturday & Sunday at 2 p.m. and a Thursday matinee at 1 p.m.
