TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Troy police are investigating an armed robbery and carjacking that occurred Wednesday evening at Somerset Collection.

Police say the victims were in the northwest parking lot on the south side of the mall when they were approached by four subjects in a silver Nissan.

Two of the suspects jumped out of the Nissan, produced an AK-47 type weapon and a handgun, police say, and ordered the victims to turn over their personal belongings. The suspects also took the victim’s 2016 black Dodge Charger and headed westbound on Big Beaver toward Adams. The other two additional suspects fled in the Nissan.

The stolen Charger was later located by Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Michigan State Police in Jackson. Two suspects are in custody.

Police say this is an active investigation.
