TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Troy Restaurant Week is underway, and just by grabbing a bite to eat, you could get a gift card to one of the participating restaurants.

The week-long event kicked off Sunday with 20 participating eateries.

Mon Jin Lau is one of the restaurants participating in Troy Restaurant Week.

“It’s a family owned restaurant that’s been around for 51 years," said General Manager Zoran Smolcic. "(It's) the longest standing restaurant in Troy.”

The 20 restaurants are offering Prix Fixe lunch and dinner menus, which means the dishes are pre-selected and for a set price. At Mon Jin Lau, get ready to enjoy dishes with some Asian flare.

“(We) put out the best dishes that we have on the menu for people to come and try,” Smolcic said.

Kim Fujiwara is a longtime customer of Mon Jin Lau. She's been dining there since the 1980s.

“(It's) very friendly, very good service,” Fujiwara said.

Troy Restaurant Week has been around for more than 30 years.

“(We want to) bring people to come to our amazing restaurants that we have here in Troy,” said Tara Tomcsik, president and CEO of the Troy Chamber of Commerce.

This year, if you snap a picture of you out enjoying Troy Restaurant Week and post it on social media with the hashtag oh-snap-trw-20, you could win a $50 gift card to one of the participating restaurants.

"There are so many businesses in Troy and it’s such a thriving community," Tomcsik said. "It’s good to see everybody out, just having a good time.”
