MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — A heated feud between elected members of a local school board has parents outraged and demanding more accountability. During a recent meeting of the Madison Heights School Board, Board President Mark Kimble can be heard urging Board Member Beth Scott to “shut her mouth.”
“It was unbelievable and totally unprofessional. I would expect more from him,” says parent Brandy Daniels.

Along with that ugly exchange at the school board meeting, there’s also criticism over the appointment of a new board member, who’s alleged social media posts include racially offensive comments.
Mark Holcomb didn’t respond to requests for comment about his posts, nor regarding a dinner meeting held off site where he was allegedly selected by several board members. Even worse, parents say they district’s child care program is slated to close Jan. 31, leaving them with few options on short notice.
Board President Kimble has issued a statement further criticizing Scott today, saying: “This board member doesn't follow procedure, is unruly and constantly attacks myself and other trustees which results in constant recesses and disruption to our meetings.”
